Remain

Privacy policy

Remain is private by default. Profiles do not show legal names, emails, or phone numbers. Contact happens inside Remain.

Phone numbers are stored encrypted in a separate table, never shown, never exported, and used only for login and alerts you choose.

Location is stored at city level. Distance is never shown closer than "within about 10 miles."

Uploaded images have EXIF and GPS data stripped. Public posts that look like they contain a phone, email, social handle, or street address are blocked. Direct messages get a warning.

Remain does not sell your data and does not run third-party ad trackers. Analytics are privacy-preserving.

Direct messages are end-to-end encrypted on the member's device. If you report a chat, the last five messages from your device are sent to moderators so they can act. Spam screening uses only unencrypted signals such as account age, sending rate, and reports, never message content.

You may export your data on request. If you or Remain delete your account, the profile is hidden immediately, authors become "Former member," and personal data is hard-deleted within 30 days except records required for payments, tax, or legal holds.
